A header in the final minute of regular time from Shola Ameobi - yes, Shola Ameobi - expels Chelsea from the Carling Cup, 4-3 at Stamford Bridge. A run of 30 unbeaten at the Bridge comes to a close, despite the boys rallying from 1-3 down with 10 men. A great show of resilience, but ultimately one of little reward.
Heartbreaking. Potentially devastating as well. Both Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun suffered what appeared to be serious injuries - groin (?) and calf (?), respectively - during the second half. I think we all will be waiting with anxious anticipation for word on the severity of these.
