This evening UK time, Chelsea and Lyon of France have agreed a fee for Florent Malouda which is in the region of £10m. Malouda is due to travel to Stamford Bridge on Monday for a medical and to discuss personal terms.

Malouda's imminent arrival now will almost certainly see 'glass ankles' Arjen Robben leave the Blues and join Spanish Champions, Real Madrid.

Also announced this evening, Michael Ballack will NOT be travelling to the U.S. with the rest of the squad on Monday due to continuing his rehabilitation after an operation on his ankle. It is expected that Ballack will join the U.S. tour during the second week.

It has been a quiet time for Chelsea news since the end of the season (some seven weeks ago). News about the 'Double' Cup winners has been very scarce and stories few and far between.
